About The Tech Team:
The conference will host a 60-minute tech team meeting composed of a panel of experts from Maul Foster & Alongi, RMC Architects, and other technical advisors. The tech team will discuss an economic development, master planning, or Brownfield (contaminated) site problem/project presented by a tribal community.
Tech teams are a unique opportunity for tribal representatives to describe a problem/project clearly; explore possible solutions; identify key technical, planning and/or financing issues; and develop an action plan.
The tribe whose project is selected for review will be contacted for further information so that the tech team session can be as productive and informative as possible.

About this Meeting....
Recovery of the national economy continues to be sluggish at best, and ongoing political wrangling on Capitol Hill may have adversely impacted the rate of recovery and its timing. Another major factor affecting said recovery is that the vast majority of the ‘risk-taking’ developers are unable to finance development projects. Given the situation, how does the all-important construction industry recover? How do these conditions impact tribes and their investments?
Current economic circumstances have far-reaching implications for all communities, including tribal communities and their casino investments and their construction labor force. However, during the past couple of years, tribal projects that have been undertaken are realizing significant savings in terms of fees and costs, thereby providing the owners with significant, long-term competitive business advantages. What has allowed these tribes to successfully plan, finance, and launch these new development projects? Join us for the 2012 Tribal Development Series conference as we examine tribal strategies and success stories and learn more about enhancing sustainable development in Indian Country.
The 2012 Enhancing Sustainable Development In Indian Country will be at the Little Creek Casino Resort. All are welcome to attend and please don’t hesitate to contact the planning committee with your questions or comments.
* CM credits for Planners will be applied for in cooperation with the Planning
